Our History - Salvo's Family Pizza

About our Business

Welcome to Salvo's Pizza

Salvo’s have the Best Pizza in Town™.  Founded by Salvatore Oliveri, a Sicilian immigrant, Sal’s Pizzeria first opened its doors in New York City in the 1960s. Sal brought with him the recipes and traditions of the “old country”—high quality, fresh ingredients and authentic Italian food. He made his food with passion and love. The business has never strayed from these principles.

Today, Bob, Roma, and Garry, the current owners of Sal’s Family Pizza and Salvo’s Pizza, are carrying on the great traditions of the past. Immigrants themselves, they worked side-by-side with Sal for 10 years, learning the business from the ground up. Everything is made fresh in the store each day, including dough, sauce and cheeses (which they shred themselves).

With the best hand-tossed, New York style pizza in town, Bob, Roma, and Garry are preserving a great legacy. At Sal’s Family Pizza, we’ll treat you like a neighbor and call you by your first name: “Let our family serve your family.”
